On Jan. 22, CHC Helicopter opened a new Global Distribution Centre (GDC) at the Fokker Business Park on Schiphol Airport property in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

This new facility is part of CHC’s ongoing transformation of its supply chain, which provides world-class support to helicopter operations around the world.

Designed from the ground-up using Lean principles, the centre’s design maximises flow and minimises waste, resulting in faster, safer shipping of parts.

The opening ceremony was attended by guests including Guido Landheer, a director with the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Adam Elzakalai, an alderman for economic affairs with the municipality of Haarlemmermeer; the town in which Schiphol Airport is located.

Michael Lorenzini, vice president of supply chain, says that through the GDC the supply chain will become more responsive to customer needs: “Today’s opening is an important step in the transformation journey of CHC and HeliOne. From this location, we are supporting helicopter operations around the world – making it possible for our customers to go further, do more, and come home safely.”

Location of the GDC:
Fokker Logistics Park, Building 15
Fokkerweg 300
1438 AN Oude Meer, Netherlands
